Vet to Vet Winder Chapter is a veteran-led nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening veterans’ ability to navigate life after military service. We provide peer-based education, guidance, and community connection focused on VA benefits, mental health education, and practical support.
Vet to Vet Winder, GA brings veterans together to share knowledge, ask direct questions, and engage without judgment. This is not a referral desk or a one-time interaction. It is a community built on shared responsibility and mutual respect.
Military service often leaves veterans managing long-term responsibilities that extend well beyond discharge. These responsibilities include navigating VA benefits systems, adapting to civilian life, managing service-connected conditions, and rebuilding structure and purpose.
Vet to Vet Winder, GA exists to ensure veterans do not face these challenges alone or without reliable information. We focus on education and peer support that equip veterans to make informed decisions, advocate for themselves, and remain engaged in their own progress.
Our purpose is practical: to reduce confusion, strengthen confidence, and provide consistent support through veteran-led engagement.
Vet to Vet Winder, GA operates using a peer-support model developed specifically for veterans. This model emphasizes shared experience, education, and mutual accountability rather than clinical treatment or transactional services.
Veterans engage with others who have firsthand knowledge of:
Education is central to our approach. Veterans who understand how systems function are better positioned to navigate them effectively over time.
Vet to Vet Winder, GA was established as a local chapter of the Vet-to-Vet peer support model originally developed in Cartersville, Georgia. The Winder chapter was formed following years of mentorship, training, and direct experience working within veteran peer-support environments.
What began as a small, structured peer meeting grew into an active organization serving a broad veteran community. The organization continues to expand its reach through consistent engagement, community partnerships, and a focus on long-term sustainability.
Vet-to-Vet Winder Chapter, Inc. became an official domestic nonprofit corporation on February 4, 2026.
Vet to Vet Winder Chapter, Inc. is founded and led by Rob Glenn, a United States Marine Corps veteran with extensive experience in peer support facilitation, veteran advocacy, and nonprofit leadership.
Rob holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, with a minor in Applied Science, Physical Education, and Health, as well as additional training in accounting. He is NAMI-trained (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and holds Veteran Service Officer (VSO) status with the American Legion in Statham, Georgia, supporting veterans with benefits education and claims guidance.
His leadership is informed by years of mentorship under Dr. Robert Poston, Retired U.S. Army Major, PhD in Psychology, and founder of Vet-to-Vet of Cartersville. This mentorship shaped the structure, discipline, and educational focus of the Winder chapter.
Rob also serves as Head Trustee at Winder Wesleyan Church and sits on the Board of Operation Not Forgotten, extending his work into broader veteran-support initiatives.
